    Geography:

    The Panchayat Samiti Purandar was established on 1/5/1962 and the area of ​​Purandar taluka is 1281 sq km. The average annual rainfall of the taluka is 496 mm. Two rivers, Karha and Chambli, flow through the taluka. Veer, Garade, Mahur, Ghorwadi are dams. There are two municipalities, Jejuri and Saswad. There are martyrs’ memorials in two places, Bhiwadi and Jejuri. Also, in Purandar taluka, there are temples of the ancestral god of Maharashtra, Shri Kshetra Jejuri and Shrinath Mhaskobaveer, Shri Kshetra Narayanpur, there is the Shrinath temple in Kodit, the Kanifnath temple, one of the nine temples in Bopgaon, the Shri Kshetra Bhuleshwar temple in Malshiras, the Pandava temple in Pandeshwar, and the temple of Maharishi Valmik, the author of the Ramayana, in Walha. It is a part of the Pune Municipal Corporation and the geographical area of ​​the taluka is 1,30,140 hectares. According to the 2011 census, the population of the taluka is 1,86,603. There are a total of 108 revenue villages and 93 gram panchayats under it.
