Works Department (North)

The Executive Engineer, works Department (North) covers mountainous, extremely remote and heavy rainfall areas. The Jurisdiction of the works Department includes the talukas of Junnar, Ambegaon, Khed, Maval, Mulshi and Bhor and Velha. Out of these, Junnar, Ambegaon whole area and some parts of Khed Maval taluka fall in the tribal area. The following 5 sub-divisions are functioning under the works Department (North).

1) Junnar and Ambegaon

5) Bhor and Velha

The construction of rural roads and other district roads provided for the movement of the people in rural areas is done by repaire and maintainance the works  Department North. Also, the basic facilities required by the people in rural areas are provided, e.g. internal village roads, drains, primary school buildings, anganwadi buildings, toilets, primary health centers, sub-center buildings, veterinary clinics, etc. These works are being carried out by the works Department North.

Structure of the Department

Works Department (North) Pune Zilla Parishad, Pune

Works Department North is responsible for effective implementation of the District Annual Plan of the Zilla Parishad and various development schemes of the State Government, construction of quality roads (WBM, Earthen road, asphalting, concreting etc.), repair, expantion construction of new buildings  and Also construction of sakav, C.D. works and small bridges etc. E-tendering of works, issuing work orders, checking the quality and execution of works, completing the works on time, and spending the maximum amount of grants received from the Government for development work. etc. All the works are completed on time.
